Ginger Miso Salad dressing hits about every single facet of what you would want in a healthy salad dressing!
Aside from the fact that there are no refined oils, it’s what is in this that makes it shine.
- Ginger: This is a major anti inflammatory, great for boosting immune system.
- Garlic: Another anti inflammatory giant… as well as containing immune boosting, antibacterial/fungal, and is loaded with antioxidants.
- Miso: (It is imperative to buy organic, because it is a fermented soy product… but don’t let that scare you away.) Because it is fermented, it contains probiotics. Also loaded with antioxidants, it supports gut and heart health, protect cells from damage, and reduces cancer risk. (I drank miso broth during my labors because it is such a perfect food!)
- Tahini: Contains sesamol, which produces antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging benefits. Also great for women’s hormone support. Using the whole sesame seed in tahini form, we get the fiber and protein of the seed without having to use so much oil.
- Raw Honey: Who doesn’t love honey for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial uses? It’s great for respiratory health and healing wounds.
- Apple Cider Vinegar: Loaded probiotics, bacteria-killing acetic acid, antioxidants and helps lower blood sugar!
Aside from being healthy, it is DELICIOUS!!
This is my family’s favorite salad dressing, and has been for a good decade. I originally made Smitten Kitchen’s version for a broccoli bowl. The veggie bowl didn’t end up being a hit in our house, but for the past 11 years, our fridge is rarely without this nutritious gem in it! If you’ve had a salad at our house, you’ve most likely either had this salad dressing or this kale salad.
